A good fit starts with you

Find care that understands
what matters to you.

Your comfort, your budget, and the way you live all belong in the conversation. Start with your priorities, then ask the questions that make your next step clearer.

01 / YOUR COMFORT

Feel heard before you sit down.

Nervous about a visit, or returning after some time away? Ask about explanations, breaks, a quieter setting, and the support that would help you.

Build your comfort plan

02 / YOUR BUDGET

Understand the cost conversation.

Ask what a first visit includes, what you may owe, and how insurance, self-pay fees, or a practice membership could apply.

Compare quoted costs

03 / YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

Make room for the practical details.

Consider the exact office, travel time, appointment hours, accessibility, and communication needs that make it easier to keep coming back.

Plan location and access

Your questions for the practice

Three useful questions to begin with.

  1. Are you accepting new patients, and who would I see at this location?
  2. What does a first appointment involve, and what should I bring?
  3. How will you explain any recommended care and its estimated cost before I decide?

Ready to explore? These choices prepare your conversation; they do not filter practice results.

A clearer picture of payment

Start with what the visit includes.

Ask for the estimated first-visit cost and any possible extras. These payment options mean different things—open a topic to see what to confirm.

Using dental insurance

Confirm the exact dentist, office, and plan with the practice and your insurer. Ask about your share of the cost, limits, and exclusions. An estimate is not a guarantee of coverage.

Paying without insurance

Request an itemized self-pay estimate. Ask what is included in the quoted visit and whether examinations, images, or other services may be billed separately.

Prepare your cost questions
Considering a membership

Ask whether the practice offers its own membership. Review the annual total, enrollment fees, included visits, discounts, exclusions, and cancellation terms. A practice membership is different from dental insurance.

Prepare membership questions
Considering financing

Ask for the repayment total, interest rate, fees, and promotional conditions in writing. Deferred interest may apply from the purchase date if the balance is not paid as required. Approval and terms vary.

Questions about finding care?

Where should I start if I’m not sure who to see?

Use the Care Navigator to explore a starting point, or compare dental specialties. The navigator helps you browse options; a dental professional can explain which care is appropriate for your situation.

How can I compare practices on EnjoySmiling?

Select Add to shortlist on up to five results or practice profiles, then open Shortlist & compare. Review services, comfort, payment and visit information side by side. Show differences, include unreported details, and keep questions to ask each office.

Open the comparison tool ↗

No account is needed. Your shortlist stays in this tab; download your comparison to keep it. A missing detail does not mean a service is unavailable.

How do I check insurance and costs?

Ask the practice about your exact plan and confirm network participation with your insurer. Request an estimate of what the first visit includes and what you may owe. A listing does not confirm coverage or guarantee a price.

How do I make an appointment?

Open a practice profile and choose Send an enquiry to ask about a visit. The practice confirms appointments and availability directly; sending an enquiry does not book an appointment. Ask what to bring and whether forms or previous records are needed.

What if I feel nervous about the visit?

Tell the practice before you book. Ask how the team explains each step, how you can signal for a pause, and whether you can discuss comfort concerns before an examination or treatment.

Do I need an account, or pay to browse?

No. You can explore the directory, use the Care Navigator, and read care guides without creating an account or paying a browsing fee.
